Ben and Jessa Pt. II | Ceremony

The bridal march begins and all eyes turn to the doors opening as the bride is escorted down the aisle. Yes, my eyes are on it as well, but I love looking at the groom in that moment. His face as he sees his bride coming towards him, it’s just priceless. That immediate reaction is sometimes for just a split second; I always try to capture that moment, freeze it in time for the couple to look back and cherish. Ben’s face as he saw Jessa coming down that aisle was so sweet, you could see the love and adoration he had for her in his eyes that were tearing up.

Another favorite part of the ceremony was something that was so special. Ben had kept the wedding band a surprise for his bride and she did not see it till it was being placed on her hand. Jessa let out a small gasp and muttered the words “it’s perfect” as it was placed on her finger. Her reaction to the band was again, a priceless moment that I am so glad I was able to capture for them.

I hope you enjoy this next set to their lovely wedding! Happy Easter to you all and may you enjoy your day wherever you may be!

Be blessed

xoxo

Caleb and Lindsey | West Lafeyette, IN Wedding

So I cry sometimes when I shoot weddings. I know, it sounds sappy and you must be thinking, “Really? pull yourself together”. I do my best to tell my tear ducts to stop being little pansies and not get caught up in all the moments. This wedding though I was unable to hold back those tears. Lindsey is my second cousin. We grew up hanging out at family get togethers and walked down the aisle as flower girls together. When she asked me to be her photographer I was so thrilled! Her big day finally was upon us and I was caught up in the midst of the beautiful moments and it started to happen, tears began to trickle down. I quickly composed myself and continued shooting, but was just so grateful I was able to be there watching her make her life long commitment to her partner.  I absolutely love doing what I do and pouring everything I am into each image I capture. Really, there is nothing that makes me happier to be the one that captures the moments you want to remember forever.

Have a great day and enjoy!

Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I’ve had long enough with you
Forget the world now, we won’t let them see
But there’s one thing left to do

Marry Me

I had the honor to capture my cousins wedding this past weekend. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of the adventure. Dom helped me shoot for the first time and I couldn’t have asked for a better second shooter ;D Lindsey and Caleb are such an easy going couple and honestly this was one of the most relaxing weddings I’ve shot. Everything pulled together perfectly from her beautiful etsy head piece to hand painted mint mason jars..I just had to share this image, I hope it takes your breath away like it did mine the moment I shot it. Have a lovely evening all!

Three Men | Portraits

Right before Christmas I was asked to do a shoot for some guys wanting to give their family a portrait of the three of them. It was not your typical portrait shoot, however it was one of the most laughable shoots I have experience thus far. They were troopers as I tore their living room apart to set up a make shift studio…and surprisingly you would never guess how we got it to all hold together (: Lets just say you have to make do with what you have so after a couple of lamps, magnetic clips and a black sheet we had it…

Hope you all enjoyed your holidays! I am working hard on some new plans for my photography..I will be posting more about that later on…..My visions are always bigger than what my little mind can even handle and I can’t wait to start bringing them to life! More posts soon to come with the latest wedding shoot as well!

Be blessed and welcome 2014!

Fall Mini Sessions

Image

“The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning. The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring, and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn…” Tuck Everlasting

It’s been a fantastic summer and now the realization of fall and winter is coming upon us. The fall clouds, crisp air, and steamy apple cider will soon make it’s appearance in our lives. Then before we know it the cozy sweaters and soft falling snow will settle in.

So many of you may not be even wanting to think about it but what better time to begin the preparation of taking your family photos for those cheery Christmas cards you will be sending out in just a few months!

I’m offering mini sessions for families wanting to get a head start on their holidays! If you are interested in doing a quick and easy session please feel free to contact me for further details!

A New Life::Paul William

It’s been such a crazy life being lived at the moment that I haven’t had time to post! I’ve been dying to share these with you all! Last week I was able to do a new born baby shoot. It was such a wonderful experience capturing the first images of little Paul. It’s been quite the journey that I have been able to be apart of with David and Priscilla. Not only being able to capture their friendship in Peru and the ministry, their wedding, their maternity stage, but then finally the life of their son! I am a blessed person and so happy to have been allowed to share in their lives. I hope you enjoy these snapshots as much as I loved capturing them!

Maternity::David + Priscilla & baby

Making the decision to have a child is momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

What an incredible time in your life, a time when new life is being carried within you. It marvels and astounds me, the very thought. What an honor and privilege to bring a new life into the world. I was asked to do a quick shoot of David and Priscilla yesterday. It was snowing so hard, just like massive snow blower in the sky. I had the honor of capturing the very beginning of this family when I shot their wedding. And now to think that there will soon be a small addition to the family just makes me smile. Priscilla braved the ice and cold alongside David and thus the shooting began. It was absolutely magical out in the woods.  A canopy of snow crested branches framed the freshly snowed pathway…it was breathtaking. I hope you enjoy these images of what we were able to capture!
